For this series of Instagrammers I love, I’m heading back to my East Coast roots. Sandra @oldsilvershed, has the most gorgeous storybook home in Cape Cod, overlooking the water. She and her husband renovated this home to perfection with attention to every small detail. But more than that, it is a house that feels like a home. Believe me when I tell you there were so many inspiring photos to choose from that I was lost in Sandra’s feed for a good part of the morning!
The uber talented designer Loi Thai shares not one, but both of his stunning homes with us on his Instagram, @loithai. He has a home in Bethesda, Maryland that is neutral nirvana and an antique business and blog called Tone on Tone. And don’t even get me started on his topiaries…this man is the king of topiaries!
Loi’s other home is a work in progress in coastal Maine. If it’s half as beautiful as his previous one, we are all in for a treat! Loi has been featured in Martha Stewart, Veranda and Architectural Digest and when you begin scrolling through his Instagram account, you will see why…
While reading Frances Schultz’s book Bee Cottage, she mentioned her decorator and friend, Tom Samet. I was intrigued by his work and looked him up on Instagram, @tomsamet. What a find! Tom is not only an accomplished designer in the Hamptons (Hamptons House Design), but his wit and quotes are daily delights on his Instagram feed. I feel like I’m in the Hamptons, Nantucket, or Palm Beach! Tom takes you to the parties, the gardens, and inside the beautiful homes of his talented friends. You will fall in love with his elegant mother and his adorable dog, Sawyer. Tom is one of my first and favorite accounts.
Just be sure to leave yourself some time to get lost in the beautiful images of these talented people. I’m pretty sure you will be glad you did. And now I’m sharing one more photo of Loi’s incredible topiary artistry…just because!
You have a beautiful blog! I’m getting lots of great ideas!
Thank you so much. I appreciate the feedback 🙂
Wonderful choices, Elizabeth! As for Tom’s account, I found it the same way and now has become an addiction, the first one I check every morning! He’s so kind, funny and incredibly talented… Have a great weekend! xo
Thank you, Eva. It’s such a wonderful little creative community! 🙂 Have a beautiful weekend! Xx
Hi Elizabeth – This is such a treat!! And honor! Thank you, my friend. I just love your work and style.
Happy weekend,
Loi
The pleasure was all mine, Loi! Xx
I love the wood flooring in your parents’ Vermont home–can you give me details? It looks rough hewn but I imagine it is not since I saw your father in his stocking feet!
Hi Melissa!
My parents bought the flooring from someone who sells salvaged wood floors and beams from old barns. These had a lot of white paint on them. They were lightly sanded and coated with Dead Flat Varnish.
They are so cool!
