The elephant in the room…aka the tv

On Instagram , you’ll notice I rarely post pictures of televisions at The Little Glass House.   In fact, I often get asked if we have one.  Um, would you believe we have four in a not so big house?  And one of them is a 55″ screen…hardly discreet.  I’ll let you in on my dirty little secret.  I LIKE TV!  I really do.  And today with cable, NetFlix, and Apple TV, I can watch just about anything anytime. So you bet we own several TV’s in both our homes, and all but one of them are in plain view. Continue reading

my dream living room

I was recently asked by someone, “if I could design my dream living room, what would it look like?”  Hmmm.  I must admit I’m pretty dang happy with the living room I have now, but hey, let’s just dream…and remember in a dream there is no budget! Continue reading

What I’m going to do with my little green bathroom

I love the color green. It’s the color of grass, plants, trees, and my bathroom, which is literally swimming in a sea of green.  Don’t get me wrong, I love this tiny green mosaic bathroom.  It’s just time for a change.  I’ve had six years to think about what I would like it to be.  After installing new wood floors in our home in 2015, I just couldn’t face another messy renovation.  Maybe it’s like childbirth and the pain of the memory will fade with time. Little White Beach Bungalow: second story

In last week’s blog post I finished the tour of the downstairs of our beach bungalow. The upstairs consists of 3 bedrooms and a full bath.  Although having just one bathroom isn’t ideal, there are usually only one or two of us there at any given time. And the bathroom had been nicely renovated with a skylight to bring in lots of natural light. Continue reading
